About Us

Tulips is all about making room for the best parts of life — taking time to slow down, exhaling in the outdoors, savouring good times with the ones that matter to you. 

We are believers in the power of simplicity and the joy of outdoor living, and have curated a collection of time-tested European designs that are not only functional and built to last, they’re beautiful to look at and made to be enjoyed. 

Tulips was born in 2019, an idea I nurtured as I renovated a guest cabin on our family farm. Creating great spaces is a family affair: my brothers are clever builders and my sister a creative director, so it was important to all of us that we create a place where visitors could come to unwind in the beauty of nature. I was after outdoor products that could facilitate the good life — structural, beautiful pieces marked by simplicity. My guiding value was that any furniture or objects we used to build out our exterior spaces had to match the natural beauty of New Zealand’s surrounding landscapes. 

The search led me to Europe, where I discovered the Dutch craftsmen behind Weltevree, a homewares brand committed to creating outdoor products that contribute to a conscious, social and content life by enriching the environment. It was love at first sight. Now, Tulips is the exclusive importer of Weltevree’s bespoke range, and our collection has grown to include other European brands also driven by quality, beauty and function. 

Our collection is built around pieces that have been the backdrop to our favourite family moments, because we believe the outdoors is asking to be enjoyed. We bring you the pieces that can make that a reality.
