Halloumi With Dates
An amazing dish for sharing with friends, this vegetarian friendly recipe is cooked to perfection in the Weltevree Outdooroven. Served up with flatbread and assorted dips, it's the ideal accompaniment for a summer barbeque.
- 225 grams Halloumi
- 2 flatbreads
- 20 pitted dates
- 4 tbsp za’atar spice mix
- Olive oil
- Optional: coriander
Step 1: Light a fire in the Outdooroven and let the oven reach a temperature of around 200 degrees. This will take around 15 minutes.
Step 2: Slice the halloumi in pieces of about 1cm in thickness. Rip up the flatbread and divide over the Oven Dish together with the cheese. Pour over a large dash of olive oil and spice mix together.
Step 3: Place the Oven Dish inside the oven for about 15 minutes. The cheese should be golden brown and the dates should caramelize.
Step 4: Enjoy your halloumi with dates! Be careful when biting into the dates, as they can remain hot for a long period of time.
